“Please correct me if I’m gathering all of this wrong, Dick.” Katavi’s voice filled that silence and replaced it with something more unknown. A chill crashed through his joints, his movements rendered useless as he felt a pull from the therapist that sat unmoving until he pushed his glasses up slightly.
“…it appears to me that you are lacking something within yourself. A sense of identity in a way that if I put a mirror up to your face and ask you who you see, you would say every name except your own. You don’t see yourself as a person, perhaps more like an acting number, a performance. These identities, costumes and everything has taken pieces of you until nothing resembles who you are or who you once were. You lost Dick Grayson."

“Rao, Bruce, I’m so sorry,” Clark said.
Bruce knit his eyebrows together in confusion. “What happened on the mission?”
Now it was Clark who looked confused. “The mission?”
Bruce pulled up his tablet and began logging into the database. “You just came back from the YLA mission to Braal, no? Hal filed the report already.” Bruce tapped on the screen to open the report and scanned his eyes over it. “Looks like it went alright.”
A horrified look dawned on his friend’s face. “You don’t know.”
“Know what,” Bruce said, now starting to feel annoyed at clearly being out of the loop of whatever Clark was talking about.
“Bruce, I don’t hear his heart.”
Eight months ago, Dick Grayson returned from Spyral, and faced his family’s anger at the betrayal.
One month ago, John Doe was shot and killed in a mugging.
Three days ago, Superman came to offer his condolences after returning from an off-world mission.
Now, Dick Grayson is lowered into the ground once again.

It’s been snowing for exactly eight days, three hours, and twenty-seven seconds — the type of storm that has Gothamites scrambling to exit their apartment buildings at floor two instead of one. The snow is piling up, and New Jersey is less than equipped to handle it.
“Final step, Dami. This time, do what you just did, but repeat the pattern. Remember that this is rhythm, you can’t half-commit to it.”
“I never half-commit.”
“That’s right, you over-commit. It’ll only land you in the ice again, baby bat.” Dick glides ahead of the boy, twisting to get a good look at him. Dick’s legs already ache from the effort of pretending this is easy. His balance is muscle memory, but his muscle ability is another thing. Maybe he should’ve confronted Tim about the straws.

“Bruce, you would report parents like those to the police. And by the time I was with the Titans, I would too. And still, Bruce, still, I took it when you hurt me because—because I don’t know. Because maybe, somewhere along the way, I started pretending you weren’t my father.”
"Hurt you," Jason echoes, and now his voice isn't raspy because he's pretending to be Batman. Bruce hurt Dick. The first son, the favourite, the one most like him.
Bruce hurt him?
"Do you still not understand what you did? What you keep doing? ‘It is what it looks like.’ Funny how I only realised it after my death, after you beat me up and sent me away from my family.”
Dick stands up, all stiff movements. The light from outside hits him directly, and Jason realises he’s in a nightmare.
Jason was—he was dreaming. This—this man, hunched and shaking and bleeding—cannot be Dick. His brother’s face could never be dripping with blood from his father’s fists.
“Look. You’ve made me a victim,” Dick tells him.
OR
Dick finally realises Batman is an abusive piece of shit, and so do his brothers. What follows is never that simple.
