She lay there, atop her sheets, and closed her eyes. She knew sleep was inevitable, but still, she persisted in her rebellion against it. Having her eyes shut while doing so, however, would prove to be a challenge. She could feel herself lose control of her thoughts, and they were beginning to make no sense.
Life is strange in how quickly it changes, she thought. One second, all she could see was the back of her eyelids, and the next, she was staring at a blonde girl with apparel so colourful, it felt like a personal attack to her eyes.

A Soulmates AU, where Fate pairs everyone with their Soulmate on the day they both turn 13.
From then on, they meet when they're both asleep, so daily. Only one will be able to remember the dreams. If the one who can’t remember is told, they'll remember. On the day both turn 18, both will have full memory of the dreams. After they meet, a mark appears on their wrist; a black outline, with a line underneath. If they remembers the dream, the black outline is filled with blue, and if they don’t, it’s filled with yellow. If the relation between them is platonic, the line will be green, and if the relationship is romantic, the line will be orange. -

Summary
a soulmates AU, where everyone is randomly paired with another person best suited to them, on the day they both turn 13. After pairing, they meet each other every time they are both asleep, but only one of them will have memory of what happens in the dreams, and the identity of their soulmate. To avoid confusion, the morning after a person meets their soulmate, they get a marking on their wrist; a black outlined box, filled with blue if you have memory of the dreams, yellow if you don't. Another mark, a line, appears underneath, red if romantic, purple if platonic. Once both of them turn 18, they both gain memory of the dreams, and know their soulmate's identity.
Please point out any mistakes I've made in POV (trying to write in 3rd person), grammar, and English, because English isn't my first language :/

“Do you ever think about what it would be like to kiss your Mike?” Goth Mike's expression turns serious as he stares directly into Will’s eyes.
Will’s mouth quivers. “Uh- I- Um-”
Goth Mike waits patiently for his answer. Will steadies himself with a deep breath and gazes ahead. “I used to a lot." He shrugs. "I try not to anymore, because we’re just meant to be friends in our universe.” Will tries to say it as though he’s happily accepted the reality. It doesn’t hurt any less. “But… it still happens sometimes,” he whispers.
Goth Mike looks at him with pain behind his eyes. “Do you want to know what it’s like? Right now?”

Will is swept off his feet by alternate versions of Mike while Mike fights for his life to face the question of why they aren't together.
