“Interestingly, the identity of your mother would not fetch quite so many headlines as you being in hopeless gay love with a Premier League manager—”
“No need for the ‘gay’ part,” Trent tells her. “Just ‘hopeless love’ will do, thanks.”

Summary
1987 went to shit. Vecna brought on what may well be the apocalypse, and Steve fought it to the end. Literally.
Death was supposed to be a one-way street. But knowing a girl with super powers had a tendency to change the game. So when Steve opens his eyes to a beer-soaked bathroom on Halloween in 1984, Nancy calling him 'bullshit' all over again, the universe might forgive Steve for thinking he was either a) in Hell or b) going cracked. But Steve didn't have time to freakout. Not when El finds him and asks that he help her change the events of the future. Not when he's the only other person she managed to drag with her for chance number two.
OR: A time travel fix-it, where 1987 Steve is dropped back into his 1984 self. And now he has to deal with that plus the impending apocalypse on the horizon. But he'll be fine, right? Because, as El informs whoever asks, Steve's 'The Babysitter'. So he gets to work. He can cry later, when he's done.

Summary
It’s almost been a year since Eddie Munson died. How does Steve know this? He’s calculated it. He still has the sheet of paper on his desk where he sat down to write out all the dates he could remember – there’s even a shoddily drawn calendar. It’ll be a year in a month and a half.
There are too many questions, but the biggest one for Steve is why is he dreaming about Eddie now? And why won’t the dreams stop? It's driving him crazy.
Every night for the past week, Steve has relived the moment he found Dustin with Eddie’s body. As the anniversary for his death approaches, Eddie becomes a constant in Steve’s life, and as the dreams slowly change, Steve can’t shake the feeling that he’s learning more about the enigmatic Eddie Munson. At the very least, he’s learning to miss him.

But in Hawkins there are tales of darker creatures. The devil is in their woods. He controls great faceless demons, eight feet tall, and hungry for blood. Grasping beasts with horrifying maws that hunt in packs and steal livestock. Monsters to frighten children and explain the rituals that drive community life.
Every year, a sacrifice is made to the old gods. A sacrifice for prosperity, but also protection.
No one is to leave the village after sundown.
Always wear a protective amulet when in the forest.
All is well in Hawkins. The rituals keep them safe. Until young Will Byers goes missing. Barbara Holland, next. Kindly tinker Bob Newby is found dead, chest ripped open on the forest edge.
Fear grips Hawkins, but perhaps a new sacrifice, one closer to the old ways will appease the devil.
