Liz’s hair still curled in the same way. Her soft freckles, her expressive face, her eyelashes, it was all the same, but it wasn’t. Elle hadn’t seen her in years and years, and suddenly she was filled with a hot jealousy at everyone who had been there by her former best friend’s side as she lived her life and became somehow even more confident than she had been. Liz’s rings, her loose vest, her tie, the pin on her collar reading ‘butch’, her boots, it was all so effortlessly cool, so Liz, that it made Elle’s heart hurt, the feelings of missing her resurfacing in a sharp and overwhelming way.

“Girls like me?”
Girls like you, Elle wants to say, girls who are pretty like boys, with wide grins and dimples and eyelashes like oh my god.

Summary
A series of one shots that will be (mostly) taking place during Elle and Liz's senior year.
Elle Woods didn't have to worry about deciding between Dustin and Miles anymore. Since Miles ended up getting back together with Shannon after committing to the university she was currently attending. Elle ended up dating Dustin for a few months before they both decided they enjoyed being friends more than partners. Which wasn't all bad considering Elle could tell her LA best friend and the Seattle boy seemed to have a longing to explore their potential feelings for each other.
Liz on the other hand spent a wonderful spring semester with Kimberly. But when the decision was made that she would go to a college across the country, their relationship grew strained. Eventually they both decided it would be best to end things halfway through the summer before Liz's senior year.
Without the company of their respective partners, Liz and Elle found themselves spending a lot of time together. They weren't expecting for that time to foster feelings that went beyond friendship.

Max was so tired, yet she felt unable to close her eyes, still feeling knocked out by Chloe’s presence. How was she even here? The theory about Safi had quickly been dismissed in Max’s mind: the woman could take one’s appearance but not their personality, and Max knew it was her Chloe sleeping in the bed next to her. She didn’t seem to be a hallucination either: Max had had hallucinations due to her powers in the past, and never had they felt so real and accurate. So no, Chloe couldn’t be an illusion.
“You gonna sit there all night?” Chloe’s sleep-addled voice broke the silence all of a sudden, making Max jump.
“Jesus, Chloe, you scared me,” she sighed, hand resting against her racing heart, willing for it to calm down. “I’m just… resting my legs. It’s been a strange, long day.”
There was a silence, before Chloe spoke up again. “Cut the shit and get over here. I’m not letting you sleep in your damn staircase.”
Or: Chloe crashes at Max's place in Vermont, and Max can't believe she’s here. After all, she hasn't seen the woman since she died eleven years ago.

We've been together for around six months now, our relationship blooming. This night, she was working late, as her job could sometimes require her to do. I wasn't a fan of these nights, the silence filling me up with emptiness. However, I found a way to pass the time and that was by sending her pictures. Dirty pictures. This should be enough to get her through her shift, just call it natural caffeine.
After sending the pictures, I realized we were out of bread and went to pick it up from the store - across town. On the drive there, I noticed the flashing red and blue lights pulling me over. Panic took over me immediately as the Police Officer walked up to my window. It was her.

And she does. She's hot and cool, and her name is Chloe, but that's totally just a coincidence. The last time Max saw her childhood best friend, they'd barely been teenagers.
Chloe can't believe Max actually doesn't recognize her. It's been over fifteen years, sure, but she recognized Max on sight. She wants to be hurt about it, but the flirting and promise of a fun one night stand make her hesitate. So she decides to go along with it, pretend she doesn't know exactly who Max Caulfield is.
Until things get real back at the hotel, and she has no choice but to confess.
