Summary
Just before he picks up his book, he sees something white stuck between two open-faced petals and picks at it, revealing a folded piece of crisp paper. Semi-cursive handwriting is inked into it and reads:
“It’s customary to give your opponents their flowers to establish a fairground. Buttercups represent childishness. Take this as a sign to start acting your age. - Minho”
Seungmin folds the note back up and slips it back into the bouquet. The sigh that follows is poignant in how it lingers long after. The first time Seungmin gets given flowers by a boy, and it’s an insult. Two can play that game.Somehow, getting stuck in a time loop that replays Seungmin's dreaded night in the throes of a fraternity party isn't the worst thing about his situation. Instead, it's that he has to share the dilemma with the man that almost crashed into his car a month ago and has yet to let it go.

Summary
When Chris finally turns left on the hallway, he sees his father on the floor. There’s blood around him, a lot of it. And, crouched down beside him, is a man.
That’s all he sees; his father, the blood, and the muscles on the man’s back moving under the skin.
The chewing noise is a lot louder now.
Then it hits him; his father is being eaten.
Minho Lee is an Eater. Simple as that. He lives on the road, driving through small cities and feeding on people when he can. It has been like that all his life. He has been like that all his life.
One night, Minho slips up. He's high on adrenaline, the same one he always feels when he feeds, and that's why he doesn't hear the footsteps coming closer, he doesn't hear the heavy panting, he doesn't smell the fear. He's too entranced in the body in front of him, the meat in front of him, the strong taste he's always loved on his tongue.
That's how he meets Christopher. A bitter Non-Eater, who lived in a recluse farmhouse with an abusive father during his whole life and never knew any better.
