Summary
Cadet Spock is one is the crew-members aboard the USS Intrepid when the ship discovers what is left of the colony on Tarsus IV. Amongst the rescued children is a young trans boy named Jim Kirk, who develops a keen interest in being aboard a star-ship as he recovers on the way back to Earth. Volunteering to be the boy's mentor, Spock takes young Jim under his wing. And as their mentorship becomes a close friendship, and Jim grows from a scared boy into a confident young man, could they become something else, too?

Summary
After the events of Into Darkness, Jim is suffering from survivor’s guilt and a multitude of medical problems brought on from having died. Spock and McCoy are doing all they can to help him through it.
Expect the recovery process to include lots and lots of emotional and physical whump.
(Set between Jim’s resurrection and the speech he gave at the end of Into Darkness. Keep in mind, an entire year passed in that time, so this will be a long fic. Let me also warn that it is a very heavy story and is very emotionally charged, so it may be at times distressing to read. Much of this is a study on mental health at its lowest.
