Summary
Shane should be here right now, should be in Ilya’s house. Ilya should be teasing him about being picky while going through delivery options for food on his phone. Shane should be discovering that Ilya has ginger ale in the fridge and the protein bars Shane mentioned liking in an interview in his pantry. He should be making out with Shane on the couch, sneaking a hand into his pants, teasing him about whether they can beat the deliveryman and arrive before he does. Shane was supposed to spend the night tonight, the Montreal team not set to leave until tomorrow afternoon because of potential bad weather in the morning. Shane should be fed and showered and ready to curl up in bed with Ilya tonight.
But Shane is in a hospital.And Ilya is here.
He pulls up Jane in his phone again. He presses call.
“Hey, you’ve reached Shane Hollander-”
Ilya closes his eyes and lets Shane’s voice roll over him.

The second Shane hit the ice, Ilya knew something was wrong. Bood didn’t mean to hit him, it was a clean play and an even cleaner hit. A regular hockey hit. But the way Shane landed and slid into the boards, seeing the blood but not knowing where it was coming from, had Ilya’s heart stopping. Even now, almost three hours later, it didn’t feel like his heart had started again. He could hear Bood in the bed next to him asking him something, but all he could do was refresh the tab ‘shane hollander injury update’ and hope some news article somehow leaked information. He knew he didn’t actually want that to happen because Shane deserved privacy, but he was dying inside not knowing if his boyfriend was okay.

All Shane knew was he was in pain, the medication wasn’t masking it, and he needed Ilya. His parents were both in the room, as was Hayden, doing their best to figure out how to get ‘ily to the hospital.

Summary
"You could have kicked the comforter off if you were hot," Jeremy said, before Jean felt a rush of cold air, the warmth of the comforter stripped away.
"I'm freezing," he shivered, burrowing in closer to Jeremy's body heat and making a half-hearted attempt to blindly reach for the comforter. His arm felt so heavy that it only took seconds to give up and just accept whatever body heat Jeremy could supply.
"Hey, sweetie," Jeremy pulled away, and Jean felt his hand gently grip his chin so he could look at him. "You're really pale. Are you feeling okay?"
"'M fine," Jean grumbled, eyes still closed, though he could feel the concern radiating off of Jeremy. "Need to get up for class."
A soft pressure on his forehead startled him. "You're warm."
Jean finally allowed his eyes to flutter open and was met with a golden brown set that always seemed to find him. Right now, he wished they would let him go, because whatever he found in Jean's eyes made his brows furrow.
"Are you sick?"

Or Jean is very resistant to letting Jeremy care for him, but as the day wears on he can't help but lean into it.

Jeremy blinks, maybe back into consciousness, maybe just back into awareness, to light pouring into the window and a familiar silhouette standing over him.
“What are you on?” The Marseille accent snaps, and Jeremy groans at the words.
No. No, no, no. It’s not fair how his mind does this to him. It’s not fair how even in his drugged-out, numbing haze, his mind still conjures images of the best thing he ever lost. Why? Why does it torture him like this?
Wake up. He needs to wake up.
“Jeremy, what are you on?”
“Stop,” Jeremy moans. “Please, stop.”
He brings his right hand up to his left wrist, pinching so hard that he shivers and his eyes water. He digs his nails in, hoping to draw blood if that’s what it takes to get himself to wake up. He can’t do it again. He can’t have Jean in his hazy dreams and wake back up to being alone.
“Do not,” dream Jean hisses, and he bends down to grab Jeremy’s wrist, yanking it away.
His touch feels so real, so warm, almost like…
“Jean?” Jeremy’s voice is raw and rough. His throat is so dry.

Summary

When Yuna and David get the call that he's been rushed to the hospital after a car accident they scramble to get to him so he won't wake up alone in the hospital. Days of confusion, pain, and sadness ensue. Especially since Shane can't come back until after he finishes a season defining game or else the industry might catch on to his and Ilya's secret relationship.
