“Alhaitham, have you seen the wrapping paper anywhere?”
That was a common question being thrown around their household lately, and Kaveh mentally kicked himself for it every time. He peeked his head out of the study just in time for the aforementioned roll of cardboard to be thrown right in his general direction, the now loosened packing material landing on the hardwood floor with a soft thud before rolling to a stop right at his feet. Alhaitham just caught his gaze with that familiar deadpan stare of his, teal and amber eyes glancing his way over the edge of his most recent flight-of-fancy book of the week where he sat on the divan, before going back to reading.
“You keep losing track of it, maybe you should get glasses soon,” Alhaitham snarkily replied, followed by the sound of a page turning the exact moment Kaveh bent down to pick up the roll with an overdramatic scoff.
“The least you could do is help, you know. They’re your friends too.”
Alhaitham, again, just shrugged, his eyes not leaving the page. “I do help. I’m providing moral support.”
