The different colors blending together in a way that you don’t get to see in most places like the city. The baby blue mixing with the pink and orange. Forming a sort of sherbet type of coloring.

It’s an innocuous enough sensation- Despite his religious use of bug spray, there are enough insects in the forest that he’s no stranger to the occasional bite.
But truth be told, the mosquitoes don’t explain this heat crawling down his spine. There are bites over his entire body, not just his back, and they’re old enough and few enough that they shouldn’t be burning like this.
He pushes the thought aside, not willing to consider that this might be something that calamine lotion can’t fix.
