It was useless once night fell and he was back to feel Minho being so close but so far. There were so many memories attached to that place, so many memories attached to the summer warm nights. So many firsts lingering, so close and so far from his skin.

“Oh shit, I’m sorry.” Minho laughed, putting a little space between them and taking his hand from Jisung to rub the back of his hair as he smiled bashfully.
“I don’t… Why did you think I was gay?” Jisung asked, his eyes wide and brow furrowed as he started to worry.
“I didn’t look at you and think ‘he looks gay, I’m gonna kiss him’ I looked at you and thought ‘he looks pretty, I’m gonna try and kiss him’.”
“Oh…” Jisung breathed.-
Jisung struggled to fit in, to feel normal and to flow with the rest of the world. He knew he liked women, of course he did. So why when he met Minho did everything become so much better and worse all at once?

Minho quirks a brow at the clumsy display, stuffs his hands in his pockets. The cute little mechanic is amusing, he’ll admit. Makes him want to say something completely out-of-left-field just to see his reaction; he imagines big round eyes, a disconcerted pout. Adorable.
Minho shrugs. “I fumbled one too many romantic prospects east of the Continental Divide, and I have too much of a pariah complex to handle it maturely.”

Or: Following another catastrophic end to a long list of failed relationships, Minho decides to pack up and start his life anew, but his plans are thwarted when his car breaks down on his drive across the Rocky Mountains. "What do you think would have happened to us?" Jisung asks, lacing his fingers in between Minho's. He can find the spaces in his fingers without fault even in the dark. "If we were around when the asteroid hit the dinosaurs?"
Minho squeezes his fingers, and Jisung knows he's smiling. "We would have gone with them, I guess. But at least it would be together."
Jisung turns to lay fully on his side. Minho just lets him move his hand with him. "I don't think so."
"Well, what do you think?" Minho whispers.
Jisung smiles and he knows that even if Minho can't see it, he can feel it. "I think we would have saved the dinosaurs."
(OR: Jisung keeps bees, Minho grows flowers. They need each other as much as the honey needs the nectar.)

Summary
Living alone with Minho used to be a thing of both fantasy and nightmare; something that Jisung both longed for and agonized over. Something he wanted, but, for a very long time, something that he also wasn’t sure he was confident about.
Now it's reality, and it's daunting, thinking about the many ways he could expose himself to Minho through living by themselves; the many new things he could possibly discover about Minho as well, good and bad. A part of Jisung knows it’s silly to think like this considering they’ve been together for five years; considering how, more than anyone, he wants to believe that he and Minho know each other inside out at this point.
“Hyung?” he calls out.
“Yeah?” Minho responds, and Jisung allows himself to relax. “Food’s here!”
