Amid a fraternity's blackface party and a police brutality scandal, Gotham City is introduced to a new super-criminal. This mysterious figure goes by Minstrel, and while he uses the motif and tactics of his uncle, the Joker, this villain has crafted his own identity and MO. Reclaiming blackface minstrel imagery, Minstrel's crimes serve as retaliation for anti-Blackness throughout Gotham City. Surely the Caped Crusader and his allies will defeat him, but what lasting impact will he have on Gotham City?
Equal parts pastiche and parody, A Maroon in Midnight Blue uses the mythos of the Caped Crusader to explore themes of the Afro-surreal. Recommended for fans of The Killing Joke and Endgame, but also Invisible Man and Beloved as well.

Summary
Years before Alan Scott or Hal Jordan, another ring of power from another Lantern Corps made it's way to Earth. This ring was first worn by the human Kevin Wilkinson, but was stolen from him by John Wilkins, the Negro sharecropper that farms on the land Wilkinson's family has owned for years.
Note: Rape mentioned and alluded to repeatedly; central part of the story. It is NOT described in detail. The other violence is, however.
