“Are you breaking up with me?”
The rasp in Jungkook’s voice is undeniably woven with fear and grief, and it rips a piece of Jimin’s being from his existence—because Jimin freezes. No words appear on his lips, no answer ready. His mouth stays shut as Jungkook silently weeps, waiting for an answer.
“I don’t know.” Jimin finally says, biting the inside of his cheeks.
Or, in which Jimin used to believe that nothing could come between him and Jungkook. They were the perfect couple—loving, understanding, supportive—it was all so lovely, so easy. Until it wasn't.

Of course Jimin knows. "Forty-seven thousand," he mumbles.
The alpha hums. “Forty-seven thousand. Lost. Not to mention all the investors who have pulled out entirely after your little—spectacle.”
Jimin’s breath hitches when fingers tangle in his hair, yanking his head back.
“I don't care that you lied about being an alpha.” Jungkook’s tone drops lower. “But I care that you made a fool out of me and my club by letting yourself be caught like that.” His grip tightens. “My best fighter—Going into heat, in the middle of a match, submitting like a fucking bitch."

“No,” the blonde shook his head, and his voice breaking— like cracked porcelain. “You see me when she doesn’t need you. You love me in the spaces she leaves behind.”
Jeongguk’s fingers curled, trembling ever so slightly as they tightened over Jimin’s knee— an unspoken apology etched into the warmth of the raven’s touch, as if he could will Jimin to feel the ache he carried too. “She’s my friend.”
“She’s your priority,” Jimin points out firmly, voice just above a whisper.

Jeongguk had never quite learned how to love without faltering, and Jimin had long stopped wishing for perfect love. He didn’t need grand promises or flawless devotion— only to be chosen, gently and surely, just once when it mattered. But deep down, he was starting to wonder if even that was too much to ask.
