Nico’s jaw drops against his will, feeling his face trying to morph into about ten different shades of red at once. (He also envisions getting on his knees if Jack calls him captain again, but unfortunately, he has a hockey game to go play.) He lets out a maniacal-sounding laugh that comes out more like a choke, practically sprinting away before he could blurt out something stupid.

It felt good to take this tiny piece of evil and remove it from the earth.

Will’s breath hitches audibly and Mike can hear it, just as he also hears and feels Will sitting next to him, body pressed against his so close his warmth slowly spread to Mike’s thin bones, heart doubled in his chest and veins.
