Before he was drafted, BJ Hunnicutt was a little more familiar with asking people to slow down rather than giving them full control over his body, his decisions. He has no idea what kind of magic spell Hawk cast on him the second he stepped off a plane at Kimpo, but every move he's made since then has been following in Hawkeye Pierce's footsteps. He doesn't even think to question where they're going. In complete silence, he lets Hawk guide him, allows Sidney to follow.

Summary
After receiving an anonymous letter from a pen pal service, Hawkeye decides to go for it, becoming fast friends with the charming and funny person on the other side of the world. They continue to exchange letters until one day, with no warning, the letters stop. To make matters worse, Trapper gets sent home, leaving Hawkeye with two friends that disappeared without saying goodbye.
At least their new surgeon, BJ, is there to keep him company and tend to his bruised heart.
