When Caine somehow concludes that Pomni must be in love with Jax, he enthusiastically tries to set the two of them up. With her suspicions of Caine only growing, Pomni decides that the best course of action would be to play into Caine's fantasy. Plus… Wouldn't it be kind of fun?

"Well, then what was all that? Was it supposed to be some weird, special event he roped you into or…?" Zooble asked.
"N-No, it's that— I mean, Caine was right."
Ragatha looked befuddled, "Um… Right about what…?"

Lee’s black eyes reflected the loading screen menu for a video game. The Amazing Digital Circus, the title splashed across the monitor in cheerful bubble-text.
Fear momentarily forgotten in place of morbid curiosity, he considered the red and yellow pixel stripes of a circus tent. Then his gaze drifted lower, across the desk, and settled on the virtual reality headset waiting beside the monitor. Almost like an open invitation.
What he did next wouldn’t surprise anyone.
Lee kept waking up from nightmares, wondering whose body he really belonged in. His own, or that stupid, purple rabbit's.

Summary
"We were so worried, we heard you—" Ragatha starts, and then looks up. She meets Jax's gaze dead-on, and goes silent. Tears brim in the corner of her eye. Her hand flies up to cover her mouth. He can't tell if the look on her face is relief or fear.
Gangle's staring at him like she's seen a ghost. Pomni slowly raises to her feet, brows furrowed. She winces as every movement jars her wavering form.
Cowered on the floor, panting, confused and disoriented, with everyone standing above him, taller than him… it reminds Jax of something deeply unpleasant. They're all staring at him. They're all seeing him.
Jax knows they're not going to like what they see.
His breath quickens until his head is spinning, and he feels like he's going to vomit. He forces himself upwards with a frustrated cry, swaying in place, and then turns and bolts towards his room as fast as he can.
"NO!" Pomni screams.
(or: pomni pulls jax back from the brink.)
