"Let me die as Regina." And she did. The Failsafe was too powerful. Emma, Henry and the Charmings arrived too late. Nothing was left save for a scarf, a pair of shoes and a shiny black jewel. Two would-be kidnappers were thwarted.
A year later, living with Henry in the house on Mifflen Street, Emma protects the town, raises her son and tries not to be haunted by the perfectly preserved study that her son insisted that they keep. The Failsafe sitting on the mantle like some perverse urn.

In the garden Akemi's gaze lingers on the pair of cranes, watching as their heads bow together in greeting. The sight should be warming, an auspicious sighting particularly on a wedding day and yet Akemi finds herself suddenly rueful. Ash from the shrine lingers on her wedding kimono, the scent overpowering even now as they kneel for the banquet for their honour. Something shy of conflict had flickered across her betrothed face as they had recited the marriage rites. A haunted fear to his eye when he’d locked eyes with her briefly, those amber glasses on his face even now. For a man who had no doubt slaughtered many men, Akemi can’t help but ponder why a marriage ceremony would be the thing that weakened him.

Summary
This story takes place right after the end of She-Ra's last episode. Being as authentic and realistic as possible, I tried to figure out how Catra and Adora are going to work on their relationship and especially on each other, now that the world is at peace. The chapters alternate between Adora's and Catra's POV, as first person narrative.
