SPOILER WARNING: This is basically a prequel to Unwound/Lost Future, and spoils the game very thoroughly. If for some reason you need *my* recommendation to play this game unspoiled, I give it with enthusiasm.
CONTENT WARNING: This is a character study centered on Clive. There is paranoia; there are rants; there are the opportunities an employer may give you; there is trauma and the failure to process it; there is the unforgiving passage of time. Less-canon is the occasional swearing & alcohol consumption, which I’ve applied to Clive because, idk, it makes sense to me. I also play a little fast & loose with some of the worldbuilding (Who owns the cave? Who wants to own the cave? Where did The Family come from? Typical prequelly shit lol).
So kind of a big oof but not, I hope, entirely depressing. And not a very flattering/forgiving portrait of this character, though he is one of my favorites of all time.
I’ve been working on this for 3 years lmao

Summary
The silence is the worst part. It truly is the worst, especially for someone like Flora, who feels the urge to talk when she’s nervous. Maybe if she had had more friends in St. Mystere, she would have learned how to socialize normally. Instead, the occasional jabs she gets from Luke about how she can talk a stranger’s ear off embarrass her to no end with how true they are.

The bench was cold, but it did provide a spot to sit and watch without being in the middle of the public eye. Not that anyone would be looking for him anyway – the main priority was safety. Evacuating the area, arresting the criminals who caused this pain. The ground was not safe, the uneven foundations beginning to collapse in on themselves. Logically, he should stand and guide those who had not known what was going on to safety. Logically, a lot of things should be done.
For once, he placed logic on a secondary priority.
The immediate aftermath of Clive's failed attack on London. Amid the chaos, Hershel and Flora reaffirm their family bonds.

Summary
Set after Lost/Unwound Future. Roughly 7 years have passed since Layton separated from his loved one, Claire. The Professor has mysteriously disappeared without a trace. There have been reports of someone looking like him in London but is too fast to catch.
Luke and Flora return to normality in London though Flora is still getting used to life there. After an explosion occurs nearby, Luke notices someone who looks oddly enough like Professor Layton himself. But when an old threat rises, threatening the peace of innocent people, and a new antagonist leads them, planning to destroy all of London, will Luke be able to team up with Flora to solve mysteries and find the Professor?
Though, it seems Luke may need some additional hands to help solve the mysteries. What happens when old rivals and some old friends emerge from the shadows? Will they help him? Or will they too be a threat to society? Can Luke and the rest of the mystery solving team stop the new threat rising? Or is it just a distraction for something more dangerous to come?
