The large and lavish ballroom seemed impossibly crowded, every square inch taken up by the chiffon of skirts or the silk of tablecloths. It was also incredibly loud too, the chatter of guests and the music coming from the chamber orchestra clashed against the buzzing of Clark and Claire discussing the security in the perimetre coming from the small earpiece in her left ear. They were stationed outside the palace in a truck nearby for fear of being recognised. They’ve been here before. They’ve played this game before. It was Jemilla’s turn now.

Summary
After spending the better part of a thousand years as a professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Merlin had given up hope that he would ever see Arthur again. Then Christmas 1993 happened and Sybil Trelawney wheezed out a prophecy about the return of the Once and Future King.
As ecstatic as Merlin is about the news, he wishes it wasn't because they were slowly approaching the end of all times, with magic itself beginning to fade from the land. Merlin also wishes Sybil had warned him how much more of a brat Arthur would be as a modern teenager, especially because this incarnation of him - terrifyingly - seems to have magic, too.
Somewhere in the Forbidden Forest, Merlin can hear Kilgharrah laughing at him.
Featuring nosy portraits with too much time on their hands, reincarnated knights with a penchant for Quidditch and such a supreme amount of Pendragon prattishness that it is practically a character on its own.

It happened after a funny incident, which couldn't even be called hair-raising.
The Doctor caught a glimpse of someone, turned, and ran. So they followed. And when they got back to the TARDIS, she was acting strangely, demanding to know if they'd been seen. Piloting back to Sheffield, though none of them asked to return. And then she neatly kicked them out and vanished, leaving Yaz, Graham, and Ryan to return to their incredibly dull lives, wondering what on earth they'd done wrong.
Until, a month later, the TARDIS came back.
Without the Doctor.
