Summary
She sits, and she thinks back to her high school days, and in spite of her better nature, she smiles. Back then, watching Regina work had been life-changing. Equal parts scary and enthralling, like the first time she saw a lion make a kill.
It's not at all the same when she sees the lions at the zoo, but there is still something primally thrilling about it. Maybe Regina George at the Christmas market will feel the same way. Not like going home, but a little reminder of why she'd loved it.
Anyway, it's Christmas, right? And Regina wouldn't be the type to go for all the sentimentality about it being the season of caring and forgiveness, but she totally would be the type to acknowledge a more mundane truth: that Christmas is the season of putting up with people you'd rather not. So maybe Cady can bank on that.

They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.

Lana picks up the remote and turns the television on. They watch this reality show about people who get attacked by animals and survive. This one idiot asshole brought it on himself, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. He stood on his cabin’s back porch and fed the bears straight from his hand.
When Lana gets up to use the bathroom, Addy pinches the rolled bill between her fingers and snorts a line after all. Whatever it is— coke or crank, or crushed up Ritalin —sparkles through her synapses and kicks her heart rate up into wild hare overdrive.
She’s not sure which part of this story feels more familiar. The moronic man tempting fate with the steak in his hand, or the grizzly bear shredding his arm to ribbons.

She remembers how terrifying it was to open up to Lauren then, because Camila never had a lot of friends, and she wanted Lauren to be her friend so badly she spent her nights dreaming up cool things to say to her. But it was the moments when she was most honest, filter failing her, that she felt the best, the most connected, like she and Lauren were special.
