Nagi stands alone on the concrete path. His hands are tucked into the pockets of a black jacket with the hood pulled up. It’s unzipped, underneath is a familiar set of sweats, a pair Reo knows Nagi always wears to bed. All but half is pale grey. The other half, almost the entire shirt, spots on his legs, Reo can only imagine the sleeves- the other half is soaked in blood.
His heart drops.
The door falls from Reo’s grip, slamming behind him. He holds Nagi’s shoulders as his eyes dart around, searching for injuries. “What happened!? Are you okay, treasure!?”
“Yeah.” Nagi gives half a nod, gaze bleary, “it’s not mine…”

As the Mikage heir, Reo is used to stalkers and ill intentioned individuals. What he’s not used to is watching them drop like flies.
He can’t say that he minds.

“You’re still like that even if you got married.”
“Shut the fuck up you—.” Rin stopped midsentence when his last brother’s words hit him like a freight train. “Married? What the hell does that mean?” He demanded.
“Can’t believe that you’ve gotten senile too despite your young age. It’s all over the news. You and Kaiser got married and people saw both of you checking at the Hilton hotel. Congratulations.” Sae replied dryly while Rin just stood there stupefied at the news.
- Or Rin and Kaiser got married one night and spent their honeymoon in some luxurious hotel as the paparazzi had written.

Here’s the thing about parent-teacher conferences: it’s intended for the child’s parents to meet with teachers. Then they’ll sit there as the teacher explains how amazing (or terrible) their child is.
Clearly, Sae is everything but. He’s Rin’s big brother, as his little brother would make sure everyone around them knows. Every parent that walks past him in the halls are at least twenty, or even thirty years older than him, holding their child hand in hand as they walk in and out of classrooms. Sae is just a college student, a football player on scholarship, studying biology. This makes him stick out like turd in a fruit bowl, drawing attention to him despite wanting to keep as low of a profile as possible. Even sitting here outside the classroom, in a tiny chair clearly made for kindergarteners, every parent scurrying past him stares at him like he doesn’t belong. Which isn’t wrong. In fact, within the first week of Rin’s school year, parents mistook him for a high schooler, doting on him for being such a kind brother for picking Rin up everyday—as if he had a choice.
