Then Christopher answers, casually, like it’s the easiest thing in the world. “No… he lives in L.A.”

“Oh,” Eddie says, looking down at his own hand for a second before aiming a grin up at Tommy, who’s got one or two inches on him. “Thanks.”
Tommy’s resulting grin fades into a wince when he glances over Eddie’s shoulder and catches the surprise on Chim’s face. “Sorry, is it, like, disrespectful to wear hats in here? Like in school?” He tugs the beanie off, and he’s got dirty blond curls that tumble loosely over his forehead.
Chim blinks, then blinks again, because with the hair Eddie's...friend almost looks like—No. He can’t look like Buck, actually, because that would be the funniest thing to ever happen in the history of humankind and Chimney would have to quit his job to dedicate the rest of his life to laughing about it.

It was no secret to anyone paying attention how much Chim loved Buck, even if he often pretended to be exasperated with him.
Hen nodded solemnly. “One of the many people who wouldn’t even acknowledge me when I started.”
It was news to Eddie, and apparently Ravi too, but not Cap, who resolutely stared down at the table in front of him, shaking his head.
“Oh, so he fucking sucks.” Ravi contributed casually, never one to pull punches with his thoughts.
No one responded, but the agreement was in the air.

With just the two of them, Minho’s skin skittered warmly. He didn’t have to shy away so harshly. He didn’t have to pretend to be looking at other people.
Did Seungmin like it with just the two of them? He was so much calmer this way. When he wasn’t trying to aggravate Chan or make Hyunjin laugh, he was so much softer. He must like it okay, Minho decided, because he didn’t leave, and he didn’t tease. He let himself brush against Minho as they moved around each other.
But even that was strange today. He must have figured something out."That would be bad. Minho couldn't have Seungmin figuring things out.

"That night, Chan stares at his purple-tinted ceiling and tries to imagine calling Felix something other than his name. Not baby. Everyone calls him baby. Babe? Too close. Honey? Honey-Felix, his golden hair, his silky skin, his sweet smile. It fits. Darling? It reminds him of Peter Pan, and Felix could have wings and live in the stars. Sweetheart? A candy-coated name, like he could roll it around his mouth and swallow and maybe it would make Felix laugh.
Okay, his sleep-deprived brain allows. Maybe it would make him laugh, but all of those are objectively worse than 'baby'. Those are a little much. A guy’s got to draw the line somewhere.
But why draw the line here? He turns over and thinks of Felix’s face. Thinks of saying, Hey, sweetheart. How Felix’s eyes would crinkle up. His smile would show his cute, sharp little canines. Why shouldn’t he, really? Felix would get it. He always gets Chan. He’d understand that it’s a fun little thing between the two of them. Why shouldn’t they have fun little things, just he two of them?"

Seungmin continues staring at him. Something uncomfortable tickles at the divot between Minho’s ribcage, nerves flaring up that he’s quick to quash. “I didn’t mean to say that,” Seungmin says. “That I need to talk to you, I– I wasn’t planning on doing this tonight.”
“I really despise the path that this conversation is going down,” Minho complains, standing up and crossing the short space into the kitchen– up closer, he can see the sleepy ruffle of Seungmin’s hair, his flighty attention. Drunk Seungmin tends to be markedly spaced-out, but this Seungmin seems grounded, uncomfortably so. “Just say what’s on your mind, yes?”
“I’m gay, hyung.”
For a moment, Minho just looks at him.
Seungmin stares back like he’s trying to draw out a reaction– hands tangled with one another, brow furrowed, cheeks sucked in slightly and something glinting in his eyes. If he were a better hyung, Minho would rush forward in support, offer words of compassion, tell him he’s loved, but– but Minho just looks at him.

It happens in slow motion. He feels his foot collide with a raised platform. He feels himself stumble, unable to correct his balance. He feels the pull of gravity as it yanks him forward. He feels like an idiot as he sits at the bottom of the mall fountain, soaking wet.
Plucking a coin off the back of his arm, Seungmin closes his eyes. As he throws the coin into the water, he wishes that the fountain would suck him down the drain, never to be seen again.
Unfortunately, this does not happen. Instead, Seungmin hears a voice call out, “Holy shit, are you ok?”
Or, Seungmin sees a hot stranger and trips into a mall fountain. He doesn’t want to talk about it.
