Summary
Lisa Braeden is the new Bachelorette, and twenty-five men from all over the country have come to vie for her heart. Dean Winchester is there to find love... or at least get his pretty face on TV. But with fierce competition, new allies and enemies, and a guy called Castiel Novak he can't quite figure out, he may end up getting more than he bargained for. As the competition goes on and the bachelors begin to dwindle, Dean starts to wonder what he’s gotten himself into. And why the hell can’t he stop looking at Cas?

Summary
“‘Cause if you do, the angels will kill you,” Dean finished for him, eyes fixed on Cas.
Cas shook his head, a motion so slight Dean wouldn’t have caught it if his eyes weren’t glued to him. “Because if I see what Heaven’s become- what I- what I made of it,” he hesitated, his eyes never leaving Dean’s but a hint of fear entering them, “I’m afraid I might kill myself.”
Dean gulped, not letting his eyes fall but trying not to show the wave of emotion, the hurt, the loss, the utter terror, that had swept through him. He opened his mouth to answer, not even sure what he was going to say, but a door swung open behind him.
“Hey, I got something,” Sam said, slamming the door closed. Dean turned around, barely even nodding to his brother before his eyes were back on Cas.
Cas looked at Dean, the fear more present now, eyes rimmed red, before nodding to Sam. “Good,” he said tightly. “Excellent. What?”
He stood up and walked to join Sam.
“Turns out-”
“Shut the fuck up, Sammy.”

we don't ignore cas saying that he was afraid he might fucking kill himself because that's irresponsible writing

Summary
Another day. Another customer. Another overpriced cup of coffee that was so full of milk and sugar and flavor that it shouldn’t even count as coffee.
“Hey!” Charlie said cheerfully, coming up from behind him. She tied her apron around her waist and took her place next to him at the second cash register. “Slow morning?”
“Nope,” he said tightly. He liked Charlie. A lot. Hell, she was one of his best friends. But this morning all he wanted to do was go back to bed and curl up with a nice cup of coffee. Good coffee. Black coffee. Not the shit they served here.
“God, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed,” Charlie said, tucking her hair behind her ear. “Or maybe just a bed with no one in it.”
He barely had time to punch her lightly on the shoulder before he had to help the next customer, taking down their order and writing their name neatly on the cup before setting it behind him.
“Like that matters,” he said when Charlie was done with her customer.
“Just saying. You need a girlfriend. Or maybe a boyfriend at this point, it hasn’t really worked out with any of the girls.” She gave him a smug smile as he blushed and turned away. “Dean, c’mon.”

Summary
It was cold and the wind flung sand into his eyes. But it didn’t matter. None of it mattered.
He was in fucking Heaven, and he was still as miserable as he’d been on Earth. Bobby was here. Ellen and Jo were here. Charlie was here. Even his parents were here for some goddamn reason.
Which, yeah, should have been enough for him. He finally got his wish. Toes in the sand with his family around him.
A sharp gust of wind blew across the beach and he got a mouthful of sand that had him coughing, collapsing to his knees into the cold sand. He shivered slightly and took a sharp breath.
It wasn’t enough. He was a stupid fucking idiot who couldn’t be happy. Who would never be happy knowing that somewhere out there Cas was alive, Cas wanted him, and he had fucked things up too badly for him to ever come back.

Summary
On his first birthday, his mother wrapped him in a blanket and set him on a high-chair while she and John sang a boisterous rendition of “Happy Birthday” that had their neighbors closing their windows. Everything was bright and warm and soft and all their troubles melted away for the day. He was safe. Loved. Alive.
On his fourth birthday, he spent most of the day playing outside in the yard. Mom and Dad were fighting about something. What it was didn’t matter… they always seemed to be fighting. When he went back inside, his parents had plastered smiles onto their faces and sat him down at the table with a cake covered in bright blue frosting. He had asked for pink.
