Childe never really thought too much about his soul mark, content to cross that bridge when he got to it. But after a mission gone wrong the mark is unintentionally revealed to his Archon. Forced to fulfil a millennia old contract between gods she has to hand Childe over to the Geo Archon.
Childe now has to navigate an unfamiliar culture while trying to please his new husband and his family as well as prove his continued loyalty to the Tsaritsa. Balancing on that tight rope will prove difficult as both sides fight to pull him down. The abyss is certainly ready to catch him as he falls.

Childe can’t help but wonder if this Hanahaki Curse is part of Zhongli’s grand plan. Not only did he play Childe for the fool, but to add insult to injury, Childe was stupid enough to fall in love with him prior to the reveal. He was the idiot who dared to hope that there was a chance this affection, this love, went both ways. And now he’s paying the price.
Sighing through his nose, Childe pushes the less than helpful thoughts to the side to focus on the present. He’s got to return to his temporary residence and pack what few things he deems worth bringing on this long trip. Ekaterina will be left in charge of the bank now that he’s being removed from this post, so he’ll let her know. Then, all he really has to do is start for Fontaine.
