In the long list of rules that Dream gave him, there were four that stuck out as the most important. Four rules that he could never break.
Stick close to the island when swimming. Always be back before seven. Never complain or hesitate to give Dream his pelt. And never, ever interact with humans.
Tommy didn’t break any of those rules often, and if he did it was a one time thing, a mistake. But this wasn’t a mistake. This was a very deliberate, very stupid move on his part and Dream would kill him if he knew what Tommy was doing. Fifteen years Tommy had lived here, and never once had he intentionally broken one of Dream’s rules. Until now.
He swims closer to the three humans.

"Don't you get it, sunshine?" Wilbur croons, arms tight around Tommy's torso, pulling him so close that Tommy can hardly tell where he ends and the monster begins. "Your soul is forever bound to this forest, just like ours. You're never going to be able to leave."
"No," Tommy gasps. "No, you're- you're lying, you're lying-"
"Aw, darling," Wilbur says, long fingers threading under Tommy's chin and forcing it up, so that Tommy has to look into the soulless black pits Wilbur calls eyes, "It's alright. You're mine now. That's not so bad, is it?"

Summary
The story does not truly start here.
No fairytales ever do– no, stories like these often begin in simpler places. Simpler stories, ones that belong to the people and not the kings. Stories that are told around campfires, told around the butter churn and whispered around hearths. Stories told to children as they’re tucked into bed, gentle warm hands soothing their brows and speaking with low tones as they relay the stories of grandeur and magic. Fairytales are often piled upon– one magic spell becomes two. A mother changes the prince’s name to her own dear son. Tommy was once told stories like these.

Summary
The royal family of Antarctic empire isn’t exactly close.
Emperor Philza is always occupied; Tommy hasn’t seen Techno in months, and even if Wilbur is here, their relationship can be described to be strained at best.
The royal family doesn’t need to be close, however, it only needs to be balanced, like the pillars holding the country above their heads – as long as they are strong and steady, the Empire will be too. It’s the principle that held Tommy’s back straight and his shoulders broad through the years of hardships and trials of errors; through yet another formal meeting where his father’s gaze would look past him and where his brother’s words would be filled with poison that makes the deepest parts of his soul ache.
At that time, Tommy couldn't know that his family would find a replacement for him in the face of a commoner boy named Ranboo.

Boy genius Tommy is probably the best street villain out there, a vigilante of the dark side, if you will. One of the only of his kind to irritate the leaders of the most powerful villain organization in the nation, The Syndicate. The catch is, Tommy is a 15 year old human living in an abandoned storage locker.
One day, against God’s will, Tommy steals a stone from The Angel, in hopes to forward his mechanical wings development.
Good news, the stone definitely makes his wings better!
Bad news, they certainly aren’t mechanical anymore.
