Silver outstretches his hand, and Jamil stares at it. He understands what people mean, now, when all the world seems to slow down around a moment. The rich tones of a waltz seeping from the pipe organ don’t seem as loud, and the twinkling disco ball doesn’t seem to flash its’ rainbow lights as bright.
He doesn’t have to. He could take this plate and go back to Kalim, handing it off to where he’s off dancing with the Leech twins before hovering at his side and not having much fun at all. But when he thinks about it like that– he kind of has to, actually. So he puts his hand in Silver’s, allows the other to put his hand on his waist, and lets himself be led out to the dance floor.
Jamil wonders what it would be like to have something for once in his goddamn life.

The chains around Atsushi’s wrists clattered as he flexed his hands. His feet scrambled to find their footing as the swinging sensation clumsily came to a halt. Even in the dim lighting, Atsushi could still make out the slim figure approaching him. But even if he were blind, he would never mistake the scent that was his former partner.
Atsushi plastered a smile on his face. “Akutagawa! Before we start, are you still mad about-?”
Rashomon emerged to quickly embed itself in the stone, narrowly missing Atsushi’s neck. Grimacing, Atsushi focused on the dark figure. “Guess…not.”

Atsushi felt the cold prickle down the back of his neck. His stiff shoulders, burning up from the panic, trembled as he clenched his hands atop his knees. The urge to look around his surroundings was strong, yet he could still feel the dark glare focused on him, so he kept his head lowered.
“How long?”
Atsushi flinched at Dazai’s low voice. "Um...since kindergarten."
Finally, something other than anger flickered over Dazai’s eyes. “That long?”
Atsushi squirmed. And here he thought the tattoo would have made him flip out.

That is a funny question for all of two seconds before he registers the name. Atsushi-kun.
He almost chokes on his own spit. The Agency people stare at him in concern, like they're confused to see him unwell, when he’s definitely attacked them before. His senses are in overdrive. The infirmary has three possible exits and he has a clear view of all of them—he's cornered in which isn't the best for movement but good for sight—and then he moves on to an attack plan because no man calls him Atsushi-kun except for Dazai, and the man staring back at him is definitely not Dazai.
