Summary
Jude is strong. Jude is cunning. Jude is always in control. Jude does not gawk. Until she caught Cardan training with the Court of Shadows. 🤭
Oh, she'll make him pay for daring to be so damn attractive.
Or: Jude once again forgets that she and Cardan are lovers, and that she's allowed to be attracted to her inhumanly beautiful husband (her words, not mine).
P.S. Yes, it's inspired by *that* My Lady Jane's scene.

Summary
Set after the epilogue of Queen of Nothing, Jude and Cardan return to a calmer Elfhame, only to find that peace comes with its own unfamiliar quiet. Learning how to be married—truly married—requires a different kind of courage.
In the small rituals of ordinary days and long nights, they discover how love settles, deepens, and becomes easy. Softness wasn’t part of the original bargain, but they choose it together, again and again.

Summary
I should have known better than to believe in calm nights in Elfhame. The crown doesn’t shield me from its cruelty — it sharpens it, carving every moment of ease into something fragile, fleeting. Here, love is a weapon, wielded with intent, and mercy a weakness that invites ruin. I mistook the fever in the air for warmth, the brush of her hand for comfort, her fleeting smile for safety. I mistook the world for something I could hold steady. And in that breath of foolishness, I almost lost the only thing worth ruling for — her, and the fragile, burning tether that binds my life to hers.
OR
Jude is fading, and Cardan nearly missed the signs.

Summary
Cardan's hand lifted majestically, pointing across the street like Moses parting the Red Sea. “What… is that.”
Jude followed his gaze. “That,” she muttered, “is a Polaroid booth.”
The little shop stood sandwiched between a thrift bookstore and a churro cart, its sign aggressively cheerful: Mortal Moments: Capture Yours Today! A giant plastic camera sat on top like a crown.
OR:
Cardan insisted on visiting a mortal market. Now Jude's stuck explaining polaroids while he demands they capture every second of their date.Bookmarked by mawiie

Summary
“The painter has requested a formal portrait,” he said, lifting his goblet in toast to himself. “Of us. As monarchs. And possibly as lovers, depending on how well your neckline photographs.”
“I am not posing for some over-indulgent faerie oil painting so you can hang it in the palace like a trophy.”
OR:
When a royal painter is tasked with capturing the High King and Queen in a formal portrait, Cardan is thrilled to be immortalized in oil. Jude is less thrilled. There are smirks, daggers, and a painter who may never recover.Bookmarked by mawiie
