Summary
“Buck told you we were divorced?” Eddie practically spits out, his lips doing a weird thing as if he doesn't know if he should laugh, cry, or curse her out.
“No! Well— I kinda assumed? I mean— It was implicit?” She tries to defend herself. “I didn't mean to sleep with your husband! I swear! I would never— That's just not the kind of person I am, y’know?”
Eddie, for the first time since Jules’ met him five minutes ago, seems flustered and at a loss for words. Jules, like the coward she is, takes that as her cue to get the hell out of there, slamming the door behind her and just starting to walk until she's far away from that house.

Buck's one night stand is a genius, actually, and she has no idea what she just unleashed. -

Summary
He opens it and thinks maybe he never woke up at all. Maybe he's lost his mind.
“B- Bobby?” He chokes out, his heart dropping six feet under, while reckless, treacherous hope rises up his throat, sparks and flares in his insides.
Bobby doesn't seem even the slightest bit affected, though. He looks a little older, with a few more gray hairs and wrinkles around the eyes than Buck remembered… but he looks healthy, happy. Alive.
“Hey, kid.”

Buck wakes up years into the future— one where he gets everything he ever wanted. And he's not about to complain. -

Summary
“So, I don't think Maddie mentioned what you do for work?”
“Oh, I'm a cop.” Buck says, hesitating just for a fraction of a millisecond. People have very different reactions to that revelation, depending on who they are, and Buck's prepared himself for pretty much every possible scenario.
“Oh,” Eddie says after a beat, voice neutral, impassive and cool. “Maddie didn't mention you were a cop.” His date sounds too put together— So effortless that you just know a great amount of effort has been put into sounding as natural and indifferent as Eddie has. Buck thinks and knows that Officer Grant would immediately be suspicious of it, and he tries to push the thought away. She can be a little paranoid.

Summary
The only thing Buck is aware of, aside from the ringing in his ears, is Eddie’s presence right next to him, so close that he can even feel Eddie’s body warmth through his clothes, their shoulders brushing every second that passes by as they both shake in their places.
It's the shock, Buck thinks. It must be. Because Eddie is holding his hand hard and tight, to the point of pain, as if Buck is his lifeline.
He can still feel the flames on his face, Eddie yelling desperately for him, pulling and pushing at Buck's stupid belt that refused to come off. He can still remember the way his life flashed right in front of his eyes, the feeling of imminent death clawing and twisting inside of him, tightening around his heart in a vicious grip that left him breathless and gasping.

Summary
“We are not going to paint our bedroom eggplant, Buck.” The words are flat as they come out of his mouth, pressed together beneath the weight of his exasperation and disgust at the shade of purple Buck is excitedly holding in his hands.
Buck sighs and frowns then shakes the tiny card covered in shades of purple in Eddie’s face, as if doing so would suddenly convince him that eggplant is actually a wonderful color and Eddie definitely wants it to cover the four walls of the bedroom they share.
That horrendous eggplant color is at the very top of the card with a few lighter shades below it, all hues that Buck instantly gravitated to when they made their way to the paint section of the hardware store, eyes blazing bright with that particular interest of his that makes him look so goddamn devastatingly gorgeous and indicates that he’s about to embark on a long-winded ramble.
“Eddie,” Buck whines, his lower lip jutting out in a pout as a well-practiced sheen covers his crystal blue eyes.
OR
Buck and Eddie are newlyweds and looking to paint their new bedroom. What ensues is the butting of heads, some arguing of both the fun and not fun variety, and desperate paint-filled sex on the floor.

Summary
"So, I will. I’m gonna tell you our story. I will be as delicate as I can because he never deserved anything but gentleness. I only hope I was able to love him the way the universe intended me to love him. I can’t fathom thinking that loving him from this far will ever amount to what I could’ve done had we had our whole lives. I was too late."
Or:
After Buck dies, Eddie writes ten heartfelt letters to Maddie, telling her the story of how they fell in love, so she can feel closer to her brother once again.

Summary
Lately, Merchants have taken to flirting with unwitting Seam folk as a joke, sometimes going so far as to ask them out on a date. I've even heard of a couple instances of a Merchant asking someone from the Seam to marry them, and then laughing hysterically when the poor recipient says 'yes'. So, when Peeta Mellark approaches me after the reaping, red with nerves and pushing his lips together as if he's trying very hard not to do something like laugh, I'm immediately wary.
Peeta can't possibly be asking me to marry him for real.
... right?
