Owen noticed a faint scent of illness on Pyro when they first arrived in Oakhurst. He didn't know what it was and didn't really care.
After all, vampirism heals everything, so Pyro will recover immediately anyway. Or, well, as soon as he and Scott give him the gift. In the meantime, Pyro can remain human, helping the coven, which he will soon become a part of, breed animals.What could possibly go wrong?

Pyro has diabetes AU. In which Scott doesn't turn them at the beacon, but keeps them for himself because he's a hedonist who doesn't want to miss the opportunity to feed on the sweet blood of a sick human. Besides, many other terrible things happen to poor Pyro.
Owen and Shelby are completely oblivious to this. At least until a certain point.In this fic pecifically, we'll see Owen drinking Pyro's sweet pee after their first near-death experience. Oh, what a joy.
