Summary
Jason wakes with his hand on the pistol shoved between the mattress and bedframe. He relaxes in the same breath, letting go of the grip and rolling over, eying the figure looming over the bed. Distantly, he notes that if it was someone trying to kill him, he'd already be dead; letting himself reflexively override his own training like this is ten different kinds of stupid.
Never mind letting someone get this close before waking him.
It's not some masked assassin hovering over him, through, and Jason knows that the last thing Roy needs right now is a gun pointed at his face.

Summary
The last time Dick saw Jason in civvies he was 14, short for his age and all chubby, rosy cheeked enthusiasm. He’s none of those things now - broad shouldered and tall, eyes sunken above hollow cheeks, skin as grey as the granite headstone before him.
No guns or helmet or body armour in sight and Dick is glad for it, but Jason looks strangely diminished without them. If Dick didn’t already know that this was the same person that fearlessly led Batman and Nightwing on a meticulously premeditated gauntlet across the city a fortnight ago, he never would have guessed.

Tim wakes up under about a hundred and thirty pounds of Canadian Timber wolf.
It's not exactly a new experience. Not really. Jason spends a lot more time as a wolf than he does a man, shoving Tim around the apartment and rubbing his gigantic head all over Tim's face and neck. The times he's human are spent feeding Tim and trying to coax him into transforming.
(Tim has no idea what Jason is even talking about. Aside from the fact that the man can turn into a giant wolf, Tim— can't. He doesn't know where Jason even got the idea that he could.)
(It's better than having to fight him off, though. Tim isn't going to correct Jason on the only thing keeping those jaws from snapping around his throat.)

The most common rumor being that it’s a warning and threat for criminals in the area. When asked about this theory, nobody can answer why the Bats would warn when their goal is arrest. Some say it’s code for the police, but the officers never have a clue what they’re saying. Some think it’s just actual birds.
The truth is much more simple.
