Summary
Eddie’s mouth drops open, “Oh you definitely didn’t kiss me? You're the one who has kissed other men before!”
“Oh! Since I’m bi I just go around kissing whoever? For funsies?”
“Well I couldn’t have kissed you” he points to Buck “because I’m” he points to himself “straight!”
“Yeah, that kiss looks pretty straight to me.” Buck gestures to the pictures on the coffee table.
ʚɞ┈┈┈┈┈ʚɞ
Buck had a disposable camera for Chimney’s bachelor party. He lost it during the aftermath of that party but finds it when he and Eddie are going through his garage, looking for Christopher's old clothes for Theo. Buck decides to get it developed. It starts out normal. Pictures of the people they partied with, pictures of them doing karaoke, the uber over to Chim's hotel room, Eddie getting his shirt ripped off, and then… the last few pictures in the roll are him and Eddie making out. Neither of them remember it but it sets off a series of events that involve co-parenting, emotional conversations, extremely gay thoughts and terrorizing the rest of the 118.

Summary
Eddie huffs. It’s respectable and masculine, probably. “You know I’m not interested in—”
“Yes, Eddie, I know,” Buck drolls. “You’re off the horse. The meat market is closed. Your dick is on Do Not Disturb. I just think the pot shouldn’t be calling the kettle out,” he gestures between them with an emphatic finger, “for bad dates. Not when the pot is, ostensibly, a born-again virgin.”
“I’m not a born-again virgin,” Eddie grumbles. “Don’t start this again.”
“I’m not starting anything,” Buck lies. “I’m watching the movie.” Another lie. Then he flops unceremoniously back down, head strewn across Eddie’s clenched thighs.
Or: Buck’s mouth moves faster than Eddie’s brain.

Summary
This is all perfectly applicable to friendship. Friendships require effort. Intentionality. Sometimes you have to watch a minute long Instagram video about attracting men to figure out how to get your male best friend to come back to your house and fall asleep on your couch again. Or in your bed. Either one.
Whatever Buck's comfortable with. Eddie's not picky.
Eddie will take whatever proximity Buck is willing to offer and be grateful for it, and if that sounds desperate then fine, it's a little desperate, but it's friend-desperate, which is a completely different thing than regular desperate.
He replays the video and takes mental notes, formulating a plan that is simple: get Buck's attention. Spend more time with Buck. Stop feeling like his ribcage has been hollowed out with a melon baller every time he goes forty-eight hours without hearing Buck laugh.
Easy and straightforward. He’s got this.

Summary
"Leave it," Eddie says, his voice pulled taut like a wire about to snap, tight enough to hum.
Buck looks at him, and Eddie’s whole body has gone so rigid he looks carved from stone, but Buck will ruminate on that later. But he can't exactly leave his phone under the seat for the next eight hundred miles, it's got his whole life on it, every stupid photo he's ever taken of Christopher and Eddie and Eddie and Christopher and, embarrassingly, just Eddie, so many just-Eddies, an entire hidden album of candids he'll never admit to because they constitute evidence of something he's been pretending he doesn't feel.
"I can't leave it, it's my phone. It's got— hold on, I think it slid under your seat."
“Buck, don’t.”
It’s as if Eddie doesn’t even know him, because Buck has never once heard the word don’t and responded with anything resembling obedience. So now he’s stretching across the center console with one hand braced on Eddie’s thigh for leverage, the other reaching blindly into the dark gap beneath the driver’s seat, and he’s aware on some level that his positioning is— that he’s essentially— that his head is—
He’s in Eddie’s lap.
