Summary
He hears the saniwa’s voice: “It’s a peaceful era, isn’t it?"
Peaceful is not the word that Nagasone has in mind at this moment. He's sortied at this spot before, and in that era there were no pedestrians, no strange shops with glass doors, no buildings shaped like blocks. The only people there were those branded as criminals and the executioners who stood at their flanks; there was no walking around, only waiting until one’s time was up. Peace in that case meant something entirely different 一 the kind of peace one knows when there are mere moments left to live. Itabashi was a place to die.
Yet the people of this era live on like it was nothing.
In which Nagasone and the saniwa travel to Kondou's grave for a minor mission, and he embraces his grief.

Summary
At least he would see the hydrangeas, he thought. Maybe they would be as charming as the saniwa claimed they were, and he had often heard Samidare speak of their beauty, but they were not a favorite of his. [...] There were more elegant flowers than these, at least in his opinion; hydrangeas were fickle things, ever changing colors, and growing only in the mess of summer rain.
They meant coldness, ruthlessness, pride. A terrible meaning for otherwise beautiful flowers.
Rainy season arrives, and the saniwa takes Kasen to see the hydrangeas bloom despite his protests.

Summary
With the History Retrograde Army defeated and the role of saniwa rendered obsolete, the humans who took on the title are erased of their memories and returned to their ordinary lives, and the touken danshi they summoned are allowed to retain their humanity if they choose.
One of them has a chance encounter with his old master in the middle of the night, and it stirs up old memories -- and new uncertainties.

Summary
Half-formed paper planes and crumpled sheets are strewn about on their desk and on the floor, many of them containing half-written messages hastily scribbled out. What can they say? How can they say it? Even now, the message in this particular plane doesn’t feel like it’s enough. Destiny could fill the entire space of the citadel with words, and it still would not feel like it’s enough.
The saniwa and Oodenta may be apart, but that doesn't stop them from sending him a message on a windy night.

Summary
The human body, Hasebe learns, is an instrument that needs fine-tuning. It is a work of both force and finesse, of both strength and subtlety, of both concentration and coordination. Being granted a body is only the beginning, and he needs to take the time to learn how to use it.
... Yet the saniwa makes it all look so easy, [he] thinks, as the music swirls around the two of them.
The saniwa asks Hasebe to dance. He's never danced before, but it's a welcome order from a master he cherishes.

Summary
She knew it wasn’t possible. He was a Touken Danshi, she was a human. She was his master, and she would send him away to fight for her. He would fight and throw himself in danger and whatever serenity he felt here would be gone, and yet he’d say it was fine. It was in his nature.
But the saniwa felt a little selfish, and this was one night where she could wish for something, right?
Nagasone and the saniwa share a moment under the fireworks.

“Did you ever think about it, at least?”
“About what?”
“Becoming an artist, I mean.”
“No.”
“Not even once?”
“I’ve always wanted to play volleyball professionally. Drawing is something I do in my free time, and it helps me study good form. But it’s always been just that.”

For years, Satori took his time growing his hair out and styling it into a bright red flame. That flame was a warning to his opponents, a part of his image as the Guess Monster. But now the Guess Monster is no more, the flame is finally allowed to die out.

He glances back at the table he’s been wiping clean; he can see the distorted shape of his reflection in the polished wood. His eyes look like a half-sunken, blurry mess, but that only seems to reflect how tired he feels.
His arms feel heavy, and he can feel his phone in his pocket weigh him down even more. He’s been trying to ignore that weight all night. It buzzes for what seems like the millionth time tonight, and this time, with the night shift having sapped out most of his willpower, he puts down his towel and reaches out to check it.

“Two weeks isn’t a lot of time.”
“It’s not, is it?” Satori leans even more onto him, his presence warm against the chill summer air. Wakatoshi keeps his grip around his waist firm to support him. “But this is also catching up, in a way. I get to remember what you look like up close, and what you feel like. I really missed that.”

Tendou lifts the bowl of chocolate from the double broiler and wipes the bottom dry. He hands Wakatoshi a spoon of melted chocolate to taste. “Hey, Wakatoshi-kun, did you know that chocolate is an aphrodisiac?”
Wakatoshi takes the spoon and stares blankly at Tendou, unsure if he heard him right. A what?
“It’s an aph-ro-di-si-ac,” he says again, more slowly this time, as if he read his thoughts. “It means that eating chocolate makes you feel like you’re in love!”
