Chan groaned, rubbing a hand over his face, “I don’t know why a six year old is so concerned with my love life.”
Seungmin laughed and Chan decided in that moment that he wanted to hear the sound forever. “Oh, what did she tell me last week? ‘Uncle Channie is making things too difficult - he doesn’t want a girlfriend, he wants a boyfriend. Where do I find him a boyfriend?’” Seungmin laughed even harder at the look of horror on Chan’s face.

“SEO CHANGBIN,” Felix screams as he barrels into Changbin’s dorm room with all the force of a freight truck, “when were you going to tell me that you’re dating Kim Seungmin?” He’s holding his phone out in front of him, the screen illuminated with a photo taken at the party the night before, of Jeongin being led out of the house by Seungmin. Changbin is a little blurry, but Seungmin’s form is clearly video, captured in 4k despite the shitty party lighting.
“Binnie? You’re dating somebody?” Changbin’s mother says through the phone, clearly trying to stay calm but the vibrations in her tone betray her excitement. Her face is suddenly huge, eyes pushed dangerously close to the screen in a comically vain attempt to glimpse the photo Felix is displaying. “You didn’t tell me this! What’s he like? Oh, my darling, I’m so happy for you - what was his name I heard?”
Changbin freezes in place for a second time, pressing the phone to his chest so hard he wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up leaving an imprint on his skin
“Binnie? Are you still there?”

Seungmin shrugs again - he doesn't know what Changbin wants to hear from him. If he could back out of or postpone this trip he would have already done so.
“Only you and me,” Changbin keeps going. “On this drive.”
“Shut up,” Seungmin mumbles, shaking head and marching off to the passenger side of the car. “This is for Hyunjin.”
“For Hyunjin,” Changbin echoes as he slides into the driver's seat. “Right.”
Seungmin doesn't know how he's supposed to survive the next few days with just his ex-boyfriend as his company, in a cramped car at that, but as with most things - it is what it is, so he just has to figure out how to deal.
