    Red Robin understands his role in the Batfamily by now.

    He stays around enough to be counted as present.

    He engages enough to be counted as useful.

    He avoids enough to be counted as convenient.

    The rules of being a Drake-Wayne are much the same.

    It's been a hard lesson, but Tim understands his relationship to the Waynes quite well.

    …The only problem is that they still don't seem to understand—which is pretty frustrating, given that they're the very ones who necessitated setting up the current rules of engagement. And Bruce is really a little young to have such a spotty memory already.

    Still, the teenaged CEO of Wayne Enterprises is nothing if not a dutiful son, so if Bruce keeps pressing him for answers, well…Tim juuust might have to oblige.

    He looked at the red sky, before turning to make eye contact with Mr. Stark. His final words, a whispered, “I’m sorry.”, made Mr. Stark’s face crumple. The words were meant for his mentor and no one else, just a private moment between the two.
    He turned his head away, not wanting to see the devastated expression on Mr. Stark’s face. The ugly blood red sky was the last thing he saw before total darkness.
    He had tried. Too bad it didn’t matter.

    Or the AU where Peter Parker goes to the DC universe. Post infinity war snap he gets placed in Gotham, unsure of the strange things that keep happening to him. All he wants to do is go home, and if that means talking to the weird heroes here so be it.

    It only took ten seconds for everything to fall apart. Which, to Peter Parker, felt like some kind of record. Now he's been turned to dust and thrown into green goo in a city on an Earth unlike his own. Faced with strange dreams and figuring his place in a place infested with muck and crime... it's up to Peter to figure out the kind of Spider-Man needed in an unfriendly neighbourhood.

    After Peter gets dusted and loses everything in the War of the Infinity Stones, he believes that this is the final sign that the universe gave him to prove he can't be a hero.

    So when he wakes up in a new world, with just his Iron Spider Suit and no clothes on his back he decides it is time to leave the hero life in the past and move on. Throwing his Spider Suit in the trash he goes on his way.

    However when a certain Batfamily come across the suit along with a slightly peeved Karen, Peter's choice of a 'normal' life goes sideways.
