Summary
Ranboo never wanted to be an actor.
He was put into acting by his parents at a young age. They claimed he had a talent for it, with smiles as they dragged him to another audition, while he whined to them about wanting to go home and wanting to have friends that weren’t his adult co-workers who wanted nothing to do with him, but he would quickly change his act the moment he was in front of the casting director, putting on a fake yet nervous smile as he acted out the monologue his parents had picked out for him.
There were many things they wanted to be when he grew up.
An actor wasn’t one of them.

There was no response other than his eyes squeezing together.
“Kid,” Techno tried again, firmer.
Yet again there was no response from the kid.
Techno sighed. He couldn’t have this kid sleeping on the side of the road.
So, he had a bad idea.
An absolutely terrible idea.

“No, no, no! Dream, it’s fine! I’m fine! You don’t have to apologize,” Tommy said, but Dream raised his hand to make him stop, with a frown.
“I’m not done yet, Tommy.”
“Sorry,” he mumbled.
Dream let out a short chuckle with a fond head shake. “It’s okay. It’s just, I need this party to be perfect so I can get this allyship with the Syndicate, and I guess I’ve been putting it on you. I told you that you could decide how the event looks, and I haven’t been holding myself to that.” Another sigh, “I’ve been too ‘controlling.’ I hate that word, but the others are saying I need to let you have more control.” He gave Tommy a smile. “Sam told me you wanted it to be a costume party.”
Or, Tommy needs to get Essempi an alliance with the Syndicate. He ends up with a new family instead.
