Diego looked over his shoulder and down to find a little girl with black hair and a pink student uniform peering up at him. “Hey there. Can I help you, princess?”
“Do you have a dollar? My dad gave me money for the vending machine but it’s only $5 and I reaaaaally want a Swiss roll, which is $6,” she explained, rocking back and forth on her heels.

Although… customer is a bit of a stretch. If he's feeling generous, Diego is willing to think of him as a patron, but it's a coffee shop, and customers buy coffee. Nothing like this monstrosity.
Self control, his therapist has told him, over and over. Diego grits his teeth. "I'd ask how dark you want your roast, but a fiend like you has no respect for the craft. What size devil are you downing today?"
The bane of his existence grins. They both know the answer already. "Why, I thought you'd never ask! Make that the biggest coffee you have."
