Shouto lowers his gaze. “The world is so strange right now, it’s like people are either turning into amoral assholes or demonstrating incredible acts of selflessness.” He looks back up, smiling softly, and something expands in Izuku’s chest. “I guess I shouldn’t be surprised which category you fall into.”
Oh, god. He is so far gone over this man, it’s ridiculous.
“Haaahh,” he says, a very cogent response.
“You’re amazing, Izuku.” Shouto sighs and releases one of his hands in order to push a lock of red hair out of his face. “At least promise you’ll let me help however I can as long as I’m staying here.”
Izuku drags his teeth over his lip. Shouto’s voice has always had an effect on him, but in person, after getting to know him, it’s taken to an absurd extreme. He swallows, wills himself to recall how speech works. This isn’t really any different than talking on the phone, even if Shouto is unfairly attractive up close.
“Okay,” he says — he can be funny, he can be charming. “Then you can help me eat all this food I made before you arrived.”

Summary
This is the way the world works: the sun rises in the east. The strong come out on top. Bakugou Katsuki rockets through life like a comet and Midoriya Izuku stumbles after. If he believed in such things Katsuki would say it was written in the stars. That some god of war had looked at him and said this one. That he’d been passed along a line to get his blessings – genius, willpower, fearless ambition – and dropped off on earth.
Then, of course, there is the question of Deku. The spitfire runt. Deku, no matter what the world does to him, never stops hoping.
Until, of course, he eventually does.
(Katsuki broke him. Snapped him in half like a twig and now has to scramble to put Deku back together. “We can do this, Deku," he says slowly. "There are so many mysteries that never got put to bed. Criminals roaming around looking to hurt people and you and me, we can fix that.”
There’s a long pause. The comforter slips a little off Deku’s skinny shoulders and drowns him. “You mean like a team?”
In that split second, Katsuki makes a decision he’s never even considered. He swallows his pride. “Yeah, Deku. We’d be a team.”)

"What the fuck is there to say, shithead," Katsuki mutters, before taking another swig of his drink. "He doesn't ever remember it. I'm sure as hell not going to bring it up."
"That's pretty fucking gay, dude. Drunk actions are sober thoughts or whatever. You've had feelings for him for what, how long? Since UA?"
Katsuki doesn't correct him. He doesn't say that he doesn't know when the bitterness softened into tenderness, or that maybe he's had this gentle, furious ache for Izuku since the very beginning, since they were kids in a forest with scrapes on their knees and elbows and the world in their hands.
He doesn't know how to explain it, so Katsuki just says, "I don't have feelings for him."

Izuku decides that he has earned himself a little reward after finishing his coursework, but Kacchan shows up unannounced at his dorm room and won’t leave. They decide to relieve stress together with some of Izuku’s toys.
Fifteen minutes later, Izuku regretted not fighting back and kicking Bakugou out right away. Somehow the light, slightly stimulating presence of the plug had turned into an unignorable weight. Izuku kept moving slightly in his chair to try and relieve the pressure, but his wiggling seemed to only make matters worse. He could hear Bakugou’s impatient little huffs as he laid back on Izuku’s bed and wasted time on his phone waiting for him to finish his homework.
That was something Izuku tried to keep in mind - Bakugou was right there. He had to get himself together, or else Bakugou would notice. A warm shiver rolled through him at the thought. Izuku cursed his own reaction. Would Bakugou be disgusted? Would he tease him? Izuku could hear blood racing past his ears and he bit his lip.

...and I was hooked.Great characterization for a future-fic canon divergence, interesting plot, and fun smut as well. It's nice to see Izuku in a top/dom role while still being playful and above all multidimensional - sometimes sunshine, sometimes terrified. I can see why this one is in so many collections!
