He doesn't remember how he got there, but it's far from the first time this whole scenario has played out. It's not as disconcerting as before; it's not as mortifying as it should be. There's a coffee, a few cookies, and a tablet of his standard migraine medication by the nightstand, and Reo swallows it (and the growing self-loathing) quietly.

Summary
Reo has spent 7 years building a life outside of what was once his reason for breathing, his dream. He's totally over it, over blue lock, over the World Cup, and most importantly, Nagi Seishiro. In fact, he's so over him (and everything else too, Nagi isn't special), he's going to let himself be dragged back into a world in which he doesn't belong, simply because of a nostalgia ridden conversation with Blue Lock's ace, Isagi Yoichi. Yep, nothing could go wrong.
Or, Reo leaves (read:is forced to) Blue Lock abruptly after an incident with his parents and runs away to live a life free from all the pain in his life. Now 25 years old, he has a lot going for him, with the added pleasure of earning it all himself. Until fate makes him cross paths with Nagi Seishiro once more, and by extension the current Japan National Team. Isagi convinces Reo to give football another shot, by pulling some strings to make him part of the management surrounding the team, and helping them behind the scenes. Reo makes space in his heart for football once more(and perhaps Nagi too).
Or,or, tl:dr Reo finds himself in the world of football once again after giving it up 7 years prior, and wins himself the World Cup, his friends, and his man.

He looked at their opponent, then he looked at their ranking. They were number one, they never lost a match. Nagi and him, they were unstoppable.
His gaze fell on Nagi Seishirou; the boy looked as uninterested as ever. His figure was relaxed and Reo could read his lips murmuring ‘ah, I forgot to do my dailies today.’ After this match, Nagi was going to awaken his monster. He was going to abandon him.
The thought didn’t bother him anymore, not like how it did the first time. But the pettiness was gnawing at him. When he opened his mouth he spoke like a bitter, unhappy man.
“Let’s relax, guys. Why don’t we lose this match?” He smiled at his teammates, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “Think of it as charity.”

Nagi lived a solitary life. People were honestly just a big hassle, and he didn’t need that. He rarely needed to leave his apartment at all. Groceries (if any, cooking was also a hassle) were delivered, same with any sort of object because Amazon was a thing. He streamed for a living so all he needed to “do work” was a computer set up, a microphone, and a WiFi connection. Really he only left to pick up the mail.
It was an easy life. No one ever bothered him and he didn’t bother anyone.
Then someone moved into the empty unit next door.
Doesn’t help at all that the wall are thin, and Nagi can hear everything that goes on in the next room. Everything.

He could hear it flowing under his skin, in sync with the beat of his heart; he could see it in the shadow of the deep red veins running down Reo’s neck; he could smell it, and god, did it smell good. He had always thought that, but it had never been as intense as it was right in that moment.
Reo’s voice shook slightly as Nagi buried himself deeper into his shoulder.
“You seem more tired than usual… Do you want me to call Ba-ya instead of riding the bike?”
