Slowly his senses came back to him. He felt himself breathing fast, too fast, and tried to force it to return to a normal pattern. His hearing returned slowly, enough to hear Robin’s panicked voice.

Dustin is faced with a difficult choice. When he makes it, he can't help but feel like he's sentenced Steve to death.
The reality is much worse.
Stranded far from home with no way back, Steve must work with everything he has to survive and stop an ever-growing threat to a home made unrecognisable by the aftermath of tragedy.

Summary
The mall is destroyed. El’s lost her powers. Billy’s dead. So is Hopper. Steve is probably fucked up mentally for life, but what else is new? Steve has a pretty good thing going. He has kids to take care of, an awkward lesbian to advise. Max needs a big brother. Hawkins is his home, and Steve can’t just leave. Not while he’s still needed. He knows one day he won’t be. But for now, it’s enough.
Or: the Harringtons sell their house before the real estate market goes belly-up. Hawkins has been going downhill for years, anyway. His parents give Steve a choice: move with them and finally take that job at his dad’s company or get left behind. For Steve, it wasn’t much of a choice at all. He may not have a house anymore, but his BMW’s backseat has served as a bed plenty of times already. No one has to know. The party has enough problems to worry about.

Summary
When is the right time to tell someone you love them?
Bruce and Clark aren't together, but they could be. Bruce has thought about it. Clark has thought about it. But just as Clark decides to finally take the leap, he falls ill. It doesn't take long for Bruce to figure that out, except that Clark's not just sick.
Clark is dying. And in a bid to save his life, Bruce has to race against time in search of a cure.
Written for the Superbat Big Bang 2025.

Bruce's heart leaps into his throat when Clark raises his head and looks up at Bruce with wide, horrified eyes. Clark’s hand covers his mouth, but there’s—blood, hot and bright red, streaming through the cracks of his fingers. Another round of violent coughing wracks his chest and Bruce jerks into motion and lunges forwards to catch him around the shoulders before he hits the dirt.
After a moment, Clark’s hands—they’re shaking, Bruce notices—drop from his mouth and Clark stares down at them in bewildered horror.
“Bruce,” he whispers, with blood painting his lips red and dripping down his chin.
