Summary
Two years after UA, Izuku Midoriya has built a life that looks perfect from the outside: a teaching career, a home filled with old friends, and a charming boyfriend who seems too good to be true. But behind closed doors, Izuku is slowly unraveling and Katsuki Bakugo can only watch as the person he has loved for years slips further beyond his reach.
Then pro heroes begin disappearing.
As a violent new villain group spreads across Japan, old wounds reopen and carefully buried feelings become impossible to ignore. To survive what is coming, Izuku and Katsuki will have to confront the lies surrounding them, the damage left by the war, and a love that never truly burned out.
-or-
A dark, emotional, post-cannon story about abuse, recovery, friendship, and the embers that refuse to die.

Summary
“Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t” — [idiom] meaning it is better to endure a difficult person or situation one is familiar with, even if it is painful, than to take a risk with an unknown person or thing.
Ethan is still speaking—yelling—and Adam is—he’s a little nauseous. Part of him doesn’t want to be a part of this conversation at all, and a more traitorous part of him wants to call her back, but Ethan still has his cell phone.
Adam thinks, isn’t this how everything went long last time? Adam hid paycheck stubs from his parents and got caught in his own web of lies. Now he’s lied to Ethan and he has been caught for that as well. He never learns. He always makes the same mistakes.
Adam dampens his lips and chooses his next words carefully. “I don’t understand why you’re angry.”
