But with Pepper's pregnancy as a constant reminder of his place as an orphan child who was forced into Tony's life..
He didn't find moving on as easy as he thought it was. Thus having Tony, Pepper and the rest of the Avengers under his nose.

Peter Parker just lost his Aunt May and Tony Stark took him in.
Tony is new to the Dad thing and so is Pepper on the Mom thing. Peter on the other hand is new to having parents.
He's having nightmares and his asthma before the bite comes back because of it. That includes a very protective Tony Stark under his nose.
(I have no idea what I'm doing but I just love Peter and Tony's father son relationship so I had to write it down somehow.)

Mr. Stark’s voice came through the phone so light and happy and I’m gonna ruin it like the selfish piece of shit that I am, “hey kiddo, what’s going on?” He asked. I did not mean to let out a sob at the sound of him. Immediately his voice turned serious, pace quickening just a bit, “what’s wrong? Peter, why are you crying? Are you hurt?” How can I tell him that I’m more than hurt? How can I tell him that I can’t recover?
