Summary
Lysistrata never meant to become Il Dottore’s most troublesome asset. She was supposed to assist Theta, brilliant, deranged, infuriating Theta, through godhood trials, unethical field studies, and one disastrously horny experiment that neither of them will ever live down. But when Dottore orders the termination of all his segments, Theta dies in front of her in a flash of blue light, leaving Lysis alone with unfinished research, a ruined lab, and a silence she refuses to call grief.
Now she’s working in the shadows, chasing divinity on her own terms, until Il Dottore himself walks back into her life with an offer she should refuse: Come to Snezhnaya. Work under him. No limits. No oversight. No Theta.

The response is so quick–as if it were as natural as breathing to the Vidyadhara–that Yingxing feels like he’s just been hit by a speeding starskiff.
“You’re… what?” Yingxing’s voice cracks.
“You swore an oath to me: If I still harbor love for you when I’m sober, an intimate relationship between us could be discussed.” Dan Feng’s tail snaps in agitation, and the look on his face makes it apparent that he thinks this is the stupidest question Yingxing has ever asked him in his life. Which is saying something because he thinks a lot of Yingxing’s questions are stupid.
Yingxing isn’t sure what’s going to kill him first: old age, his worsening migraine, or Dan Feng’s absolutely ludicrous audacity.
