Aziraphale shifted slowly, still doing his best to let Crowley sleep while indulging his own desires, and kissed the soft patch of skin right behind his demon’s ear. He let his lips linger there while he drew in a breath through his nose. Crowley smelled, as he always had, of sulphur and hydrogen – old smells. They wouldn’t have been pleasant smells if they weren’t the ones Aziraphale had learned to associate with him after so many years. He smelled also of coffee and engine oil – newer smells, relative to the older ones, but still settled and familiar. Now though, he also smelled of sea salt, of fresh wildflowers, and of the damp earth he turned in the garden. Aziraphale slid his hand ever so softly beneath the thin sheet and along the ridge of Crowley’s still naked body, stopping to rest at the peak of his hip. Crowley sighed softly, still mostly in a dream, and tilted his head to press his neck against Aziraphale’s lips. With no words needed, Aziraphale kissed the skin given to him.

So he had been driving nonstop since he turned off 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square' until he pulled into his usual illegal parking spot outside the bookshop, almost a week to the hour since he had left. The Bentley had been making attempts all week to play music, but after the third time she tried 'Love Of My Life', Crowley had ripped out the stereo and relegated it to the glove box. Now she was silent, the loneliness was palpable.

“Just,” Crowley huffed as he plucked the pencil from his hand, “let me. C’mere.” Aziraphale did as he was told, turning away from the mirror and watching with widening eyes as Crowley stepped in close. Oh, my. The mirrors’ bulbs bathed half of his angled features in soft light. Always, Crowley was always gorgeous, but something about this suit — the wide plane of the shoulders, perhaps, or the way the vertical stripes led one’s eyes down the length of his body — and the cut of the hat across his brow… Aziraphale could hardly manage a coherent thought. The buzz of the audience reminded him: show. Soon. Right.
