Objectively, this used to be true. Nowadays Shane has many, many plans, between his nightly plans to look at Ilya’s penis through Skype and his various long-term plans laid out helpfully in his notebook, Canva (For Ilya’s sake. He is a visual learner), and more recently, Excel. Shane loves that excel sheet. He’s colour coded it.
In 2017, Shane Hollander spirals and proposes to his boyfriend of 4 days (or 7 years, or 9 years, or not his boyfriend at all, depending on how you look at it), which leads to a lot of plans, weird theories in the Montreal Voyageur locker room, some Twitter drama, and Ilya Rozanov entering his WAG era.

Shane jumps a little, turning around to say something before his voice quickly dies in his throat. Holy shit. Maybe he died on his way into work this morning. Maybe he's still asleep in his bed. There's got to be some explanation for the man stood next to him, leaning over to grab playfully at one of Wyatt's pens. He's dressed casually, wearing a fitted navy blue t-shirt, tight fitting dark wash jeans and a well-loved pair of sambas. Sandy blonde curls are styled messily, the fluorescents in the ceiling making them glow. Shane feels a little bit insane, and he can't quite hear what's going on around him. All he knows is that he must've done something very, VERY good in a past life to be here.

“Wait,” Suguru says in a rush, and Satoru just can’t help it anymore. He turns around, only to see Suguru very visibly hesitating about something, his movements jittery. There’s a look of relief that finds his face for a moment at Satoru’s eyes locking with his own, but it disappears so quickly it’s almost like it was never quite there in the first place. His shoulders deflate as he exhales, as if he’s preparing himself for a wildfire that may break out any second now. “I’ve missed you.”
“You–” he starts, his teeth gritting and jaw clenching. “Don’t say that.”
“I do.” Suguru insists, and he looks so visibly upset that Satoru would suggest otherwise, as if there isn’t several piles of evidence that could back up his suggestions – leaving without a trace, the ten years with no contact whatsoever, ignoring all of Satoru’s texts and pleading calls. “Not a day has gone by where I haven’t thought about you.”

Suguru got hired after an incident with a crazed fan happened a few months ago at his weekly fan-meetups. The fan came to one of Satoru’s fan events, clearly very excited at the possibility of interacting with his adored idol, but he did not get the chance to interact with Satoru further than the 5-minute time limit, and threatened to hurt Satoru, leading him to be escorted out.
That was the moment Satoru decided it was time for him to get some form of protection, which hurt him a bit because he genuinely loved being as close in proximity to his fans. So, he hired Suguru. Satoru was impressed with Suguru’s credentials and his former martial arts experience, and he also partly hired him because he was gorgeous to look at.
What’s the fun of hiring a security guard that’s gonna follow you around and be by your side most of the time if he isn’t at least pretty to look at?
