It’s the only thought running through Miles’ head as he closes his eyes to whatever violent, likely cruel fate his counterpart is about to inflict upon him.
The first few minutes after he woke up, as he watched Uncle Aaron- alive, breathing- moving around in the darkness, his thoughts were racing. Running around his head in almost incoherent clusters. Snippets of ‘how’, ‘why’, and ‘amigonnadie?’ among other, more abstract thoughts of hurt and happiness tinged with the bitter aftertaste of fear.
