When it came to his, chugging water and laying in the dark with an ice pack on his head was usually enough to function afterwards. Usually. Maybe it was less that they were tolerable and more that the other symptoms were a greater pain
Derek wakes the day after the dinner with a piercing migraine and an aching body. With nothing to do but think, he starts delving deep into his thoughts and wonders what purpose he has.
Avery does not let this slide.

Avery is very good at this. Derek is very bad at accepting it. They are both, slowly, figuring it out.
A collection of soft moments set after the end of everything, grocery runs and bad Skywars games and 2am conversations and learning, little by little, what it means to just exist without the weight of the universe pressing down.
Whatever you do at the crossroads, keep going forward.
