“Lando.” Oscar murmured. “It’s time to wake up.”As expected, there was no response.
“Lando.” He gently took his hand and squeezed it slightly. “Come on, time to get up.”
“No.” Came the childlike response as Lando rolled over to face away, eyes still shut.
Oscar smiled, watching as the Brit buried his head into the blanket.
“It’s like 8am.” Oscar replied. “Come on.”
A muffled grumble was his only response.
“I made pancakes.”
Lando’s head lifted from the blanket enough to reveal sleepy hazel eyes. He looked like a teddy bear all bundled up with those adorable eyes.
“You made pancakes?” His voice was husky from sleep.

Summary
He pressed another kiss beside the wound, avoiding the tender marks with painstaking precision. A third followed beneath Liam’s jaw, softer and slower than the others. There was no pull of blood this time. No sharpness, no unnatural warmth spreading through Liam’s body and no hunger dictating the rhythm between them.
When a refrigeration failure leaves Arvid without his usual blood supply during the Singapore Grand Prix, he is determined to handle the hunger alone. Liam — his teammate, occasional rival and decidedly not his friend — has other ideas. One desperate feeding should have solved the problem. Instead, Arvid is left wondering where hunger ends and wanting Liam begins.
Some things are given because they are owed. Others are what we give freely. It matters to Arvid, that difference. He has spent most of his life confusing the two.

Arvid runs a hand through his curls, Liam's eyes following the motion, "Laughing at my stress? How mean."
Before Liam can make a silly remark back, the bartender clears her throat, "Hello, welcome to the greatest bar in Brussels Airport!" she exclaims, in a very obviously Belgian accent, "What do these two very pretty boys want to drink?"
Arvid flushes slightly, scratching the nape of his neck, "I'll, uh, let the prettier one order first," he gestures weakly towards Liam, who has to stop himself from falling backwards off his chair.
Oh. He just called you pretty, Liam. Arvid fucking Lindblad just called you pretty. Right.
Or: Liam and Arvid's flight from Belgium is delayed. Taking a commercial flight with your teammate can't be too eventful, Liam thinks. Right?

Summary
There was no defensible reason for him to know that. It was the version Arvid played from his phone when he could not sleep, the opening notes quiet enough that Liam rarely woke before Arvid had already lowered the volume. Sometimes, in the dark, Liam would shift closer without opening his eyes. Once, after a particularly bad race, he had reached across the sheets and closed his hand loosely around Arvid’s wrist, asking him not to turn it off yet.
Arvid and Liam have managed to keep their relationship secret through careful timing, locked hotel-room doors and the convenient assumption that any affection between teammates is manufactured for social media.Then VCARB sits them beneath several unforgiving lights, hands them a pair of whiteboards and asks them to prove how well they know each other.
All they have to do is get a few answers wrong.
Unfortunately, Liam knows which live recording Arvid plays when he cannot sleep, Arvid knows exactly who Liam calls after a terrible race, and neither of them is nearly as convincing as they think.
