Once Gary gets in contact with him Pawbert will have to decide if he really does want to be different and run away with the snake this time, or if he's going to let himself sink forever into the embrace of the twisted Lynxley family.

He calmly ordered his coffee, as if it was the most natural thing in the world and he hadn’t just kissed his racing rival and friend like he was his devoted breakfast making spouse in front of a room full of even more racing rivals and friends.
Lightning was at a loss as he looked at him in a sort of horrified stupor, silence having fallen on the rest of the table around them. He could feel the stares even without looking at the others. He heard a muffled snort and a hushed half-laugh from the other side of the table, but didn’t turn around.

"There's some suits here asking for you specifically, said they dropped by your house.”
"What do you mean people with suits are looking for me? Why would they need me? You're the Sheriff." Carefully pulling the next looping stitch through the small laceration on the little boy's arm.
"Yeah.. well they have some official looking files with them, so I would hurry up what you're doing and get here before they sniff you out at your clinic.”
Finishing another stitch, he grumbled, "Give me ten minutes and I'll be there, just stall them Mike. You're good at that."
Mater's green eyes lit up as he ripped the ruby red lollipop out of Doc’s hand.

He doesn't know why Miguel was so hurt by his words. He also doesn't know Miguel's haunted past and haunted present -- filled with tragedies about to begin.
Throughout these tragedies, Francesco falls in love with the Spaniard, afraid to tell him or his crew chief.
He'll finally come out when Miguel does the unthinkable.
