“This,” Hyunjin says finally, voice smooth, almost bored, “will be 9913’s replacement.” He begins to pace, slow circles around the room, around him. “He’s smarter than all of you,” Hyunjin continues. “Faster. He’ll make every one of you look like a pack of script-kiddies playing in a sandbox.”
“Awe, baby, no need to stroke my dick like that,” the man shoots back, grin sharp and unrepentant.
Hyunjin stops in front of his office doors. The twelve men in the room look to him, waiting. His gaze drops to the prisoner in the chair, his voice lowering to something colder, something that cuts through the air like a wire.
“But just because he’s smarter,” Hyunjin says, “doesn’t mean he’s useful.”
He leans forward slightly, eyes narrowing.
“And what happens when you’re useless to me?”
