Even with the blur in his vision, there’s a strange squiggle of black that he can’t quite make out. Till squints. Hair?
With a start, he realizes the heaviness on his chest is physical. Till breaks his own rule. He looks down, and immediately curses out loud. “Are you sleeping on me?!”
“Mhm,” Ivan says, head on Till’s chest like it’s normal, and starts making snoring noises.
(Till has a rule. After his "sessions" with Urak, he doesn't look down.)

For a boy so ridiculously expressionless towards other people, there’s something unnerving about the glint in his eyes when he lays down facing him and smiles. It makes his skin crawl, and Till thinks the boy wouldn’t be so friendless if only his fleeting warmth escaped these moments, with them alone together in the grass. Something akin to intimacy hangs heavy in the air. Till does not recognise it; so he chooses to ignore it. He turns away towards the sky.

Maybe Sukuna isn’t wrong about that, Fushiguro thinks in a daze. Itadori’s heart is too heavy and too precious. It’s a burden that shouldn’t be given to anyone else. Because even Itadori himself can’t take care of it, can’t hold onto it for the life of him because he’d rather become the vessel to the most wretched of all curses just to help two people he’s only known for a few months—to help Fushiguro, who he’d only met that night.
(I can keep it. Fushiguro’s hands move. I can hold onto it, if you want.)
Maybe Sukuna’s definition of ruin wasn’t all that wrong from what Fushiguro wanted after all. Maybe that did make him just as wretched.
But if Itadori was still willing to stay beside him, despite knowing that—
Then there was no reason for Fushiguro to let him go.

Because people like Itadori and Tsumiki are cut from the same cloth—the kind that bunches up in his mouth and makes Megumi feel sick to his stomach and at the same time, looking at them, sticking to their shadows, wanting to hide them away from—
