Before, they were only as close as Billy let anyone get, but lately the distance between them has been shrinking. He’s not the kind of guy who likes to talk about himself. Mostly he listens, prods, collects, but never offers. He learned young that when you’ve got a brain like he does you can’t afford to tell people what you’re thinking or how you really feel. Stu isn’t one of those people though, Stu has to keep his thoughts secret too and now this is theirs to keep, between them.
This is mostly only going to be in cannon with the first movie (the movie 3 retcon is not for me), but may also diverge in some places, especially when we get to the events closer to the end of the first movie. More specific tags and warnings will be in the end of chapter notes.Series

Valarr shifted and tilted his head against Daeron's until he took the cue for what it was and lifted his head to seal their lips into a kiss, a soft sound pulled from the older man's throat as he pressed himself closer to Valarr, though there existed no space left between them to close. "You have me. All that I can afford to give you is yours."
Daeron's tongue dipped into his mouth at the next press of their lips, dragging against the tip of Valarr's own and against the inside of his cheek, "say it again."
He hardly managed to get the words out around Daeron's lips and tongue, which pressed into his mouth like he hoped to taste the words themselves "I'm for you."

Summary
The hands that rested against his shoulders were cold and large, pulling him up and against the firm line of Maekar's body as Valarr wept. He had half the mind to shove and fight as his shoulder bumped against Maekar's chest, but all he did was fall against it- defeated and exhausted from his fit. As he leaned his forehead against Maekar's shoulder and those broad hands settled against his back he felt that frantic hysteria leave him.
He ached all over, like he'd plunged his hands into his chest and ripped everything out of himself. Maekar didn't speak as Valarr settled and let that hollowness fill him again. It was after he finally took his first proper breath that he forced his eyes open.
A sad glint of silver caught his eye, familiar in a way that made his stomach drop as he reached up to touch over the pin his father wore with his Hand's pin- long and ridged like the tail of a dragon. He stroked over the ridges and swallowed, voice thin and rough when he spoke, "you don't deserve to keep this."

"It was supposed to be a friendly competition!"
"Yeah, right. So that's what I was thinking: he's attractive, clearly doesn't know how to talk to other men, might be into the proposition if I framed it the right way. But he's an asshole, so this competition is just gonna be friendly." Pete pauses. Then he says, "Ice, you wanna get married?"
And that's how they start talking about it.
